Providing a safe and inviting location for the participation of all art forms, the Kimberley Arts Council manages Centre 64, Kimberley's arts and cultural centre, which houses the Gallery, with its two exhibition spaces, the Studio for Dance & Music, the Theatre, the Fibre Artists Guild Room and the Arts Council office.

Each year, we host a variety of events and services to encourage and promote the arts in Kimberley.  These include our annual summer arts festival "Arts on the Edge", the awarding of an Art Scholarship and a Music Scholarship to deserving youth along with our fundraising activities.  As well, the Arts Council provides resource information on grant programs.  The calendar also reflects the CreativeKIDS summer arts program, the Fall, Winter & Spring art workshops for adults, non-instructional Art Nights for adults.

Inspired by the beauty of the Kootenays, artists work in a variety of media including watercolour, acrylic, oils, clay, glass, bronze, wood, textiles, paper, mixed media, photographs, metals and semi & precious gems.  The Gallery at Centre 64 will, in 2008, change from an exhibit format to showcasing works by local artists on a continuous basis. 

The performing arts also play a role at Centre 64.  Theatre groups perform throughout the year offering drama and comedy plays and musicals. 

No matter what your music taste, live music is an integral part at Centre 64.  Community choirs, jazz, rock and roll, country, bluegrass all bring added zest to performances at the Centre.
